Fighter Babe Kaytlin Neil Returns to the Cage this Saturday

Fighter babe Kaytlin “Katniss” Neil (2-0) returns to the cage this Saturday for Showdown Fights 10 at the UCCU Center in Orem, Utah. Fighting out of Orem, Utah we recently caught up with Kaytlin prior to her big fight this Saturday for the interview below to learn a little more about her.

How did you get involved in MMA and how long have you been training?

-My friends dragged me to some local MMA fights, at the time I had no knowledge of what MMA was. I was pretty against them at first until there was one chick fight on the card that caught my interest and I thought it looked fun, so I started training. I have been training for about two and a half years.

Where are you currently training, and what's a typical training week like for you?

-I am currently training at The Pit Elevated in Orem, Utah. A typical training week for me is like a nice little stroll through Hell, but a fun, enjoyable Hell where I actually want to go back to everyday.

Tell us about your upcoming fight, who you're fighting and where?

-My next fight will be my most challenging fight yet. My opponent knocked out her first opponent and knocked down her second opponent with the first punch she threw, so she has a pretty strong right hand, but she hasn't fought me yet ;). My opponent is Veta Arteaga. It will be at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah.

What is your best experience as a fighter? What is your worst?

-My best experience as a fighter was my first MMA fight. As you can imagine, it was pretty nerve-wracking getting into the cage for the first time. I was happy with the outcome.

-My worst experience with MMA was a Jits tournament that I did down in Vegas. I did a nice Judo throw and somehow my opponent got the points for my throw and the whole thing was just a mess.

What advice would you give to other women who are reading this interview and want to get started in MMA?

-Do it. I started without knowing a single thing. I had no idea what a jab, cross, hook, side-control, mount or anything even relatively basic was. When people ask me what my background is and I tell them cheerleading, which I did for 6 years previous to MMA, they are quite surprised.

What or who are your inspirations in MMA and life?

-My inspiration in MMA is my teammate DeAnna Bennett. She is one of only two girls to have beaten Julianna Pena (the winner of the first girl’s season of the ultimate fighter). I'm training with her daily and I'm lucky to have a partner who is that experienced to work with and gauge myself with.

-I just inspire to live life having as much fun as possible, and to leave a positive stamp on everyone I meet. My favorite quote is, "I would rather die standing than live life on my knees."

Who are your favorite MMA fighters?

-Chad Mendes and Chael Sonnen.

How do you enjoy your free time when not training or fighting?

-I like hanging out with friends, shopping, going to movies, swimming, going on vacations, etc. I'm also a student at Utah Valley University which takes up a lot of my free time, but school isn't that enjoyable ;)

For those who will inquire we have a couple questions for the male readership as well.

Are you single?

-I sure am.

What do you look for in a guy?

-What I look for in a guy is one who will respect me, motivate me to be the best I can be and who is preferably taller than me, really good looking, extremely funny and a six pack. I don't think it's too much to ask for, and that probably explains why I am still single.

What are your turn-ons?

-My turn-ons are if they have a love for working out and it shows on their body. I'm definitely an abs girl and definitely a sense of humor.

What are your turnoffs?

-My turnoffs are when they are rude or disrespectful.

What would you say is your best feature?

-My "personality" :) ...or my butt.

Lastly before we let you go we would love to hear about your future plans and let you send some shout outs.

Any future plans or dreams?

-I would like to turn pro within the next year or two and hopefully make it into a well known promotion. In all reality I just want to make it to be famous enough to get on the Ellen Show and Dancing with the Stars.

Any shout outs you would like to make?

-I would like to thank my mom, my family, the Harper family and my friends for always being there for me. My coaches Arnold Anderton, Jason Mertlich, Brock Jardine and everyone else from The Pit for pushing me every day and not only making me a better fighter but a better person. I would also like to thank my sponsors Warrior Fuel (an awesome pre-workout supplement), Ideal Shape and Endevr.

Thank you very much for your time Kaytlin and good luck on fight night! Click here to purchase tickets to Kaytlin’s fight and send her some shout outs on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter!

Melissa has been featured in MMA Sports Magazine, Babes of MMA and graced the boxing rings throughout the state of California as ring card girl for Team Dazzle. Outside the world of MMA Melissa is a bikini, lingerie and promotional model, a hair stylist and an actress. She has worked with the likes of Maxim Magazine, Hooters, Budweiser, Patron, T.I.T.S. Brand, Low Rider and was recently the lead girl in a nationwide Pepsi commercial. Keep on reading below to find out what else we learned about our June 2014 MMA babe of the month Melissa Riso.

How did you get into the world of MMA?

-I got into watching MMA with my dad when I was younger. Then years later got asked to be a ring girl for Team Dazzle.

What were you doing before you became an MMA model and ring girl?

-Before I was a ring girl, I was modeling swimwear and Lingerie. I was also a hair stylist and graduated from Cosmetology school.

Who are your favorite MMA fighters?

-I think Anderson Silva is pretty amazing! He's number 1 on my list.

What would your fight nickname be if you were a fighter?

-I would have my fighter name be "Riso"; I have to represent my Italian side!

What is something most people don't know about you?

-Most people don’t know why I have that tattoo on my stomach. It's covering a six inch scar from a car accident in high school. I almost died because I got internal bleeding. So the doctors did surgery and left me with a nasty scar. So I covered it with a tattoo.

What are your hobbies and how do you spend your free time?

-My hobby right now is Kickboxing and Krav Maga! I LOVE it! My fun time is going out or laying by my pool working on my tan.

Are you single?

-I am not single. I'm in a serious relationship with an amazing guy finally!

What do you look for in a guy?

-I look for a guy that has morals and was brought up right. Someone who is honest and fun! He needs to be able to make me laugh and put up with my feisty personality.

What are your turn-ons?

-My turn on is when I wake up in the morning and smell my boyfriend cooking me breakfast! That's super romantic and my guy does it for me a lot.

What are your turnoffs?

-I am so turned off by guys that cheat! They are pussies and selfish, heartless people in my books.

What would you say is your best feature?

-I think my best feature is my eyes. They are a honey color and not too many people have this color.

What are your future plans or dreams in life?

-My future plans are just focusing on my acting career and taking more classes. I'm going to try and do more film instead of commercials now.

Any special shout outs or thank you's?

-Thank you Babes of MMA for my second feature!

Thank you very much for your time Melissa, glad to have you back on Babes of MMA and Happy Birthday! For more on our June 2014 MMA babe of the month Melissa Riso please visit her website, Facebook, Instagram and Twitter pages.

Fighter babe Autumn "Thunder" King returns to the cage this Thursday for Tuff-N-Uff in Las Vegas, Nevada. Fighting out of Oceanside, California we recently caught up with the mother of three and Army National Guard Staff Sergeant prior to her big fight this Thursday for the interview below to learn a little more about her.

How did you get involved in MMA and how long have you been training?

-A friend referred me to Team Quest in Temecula in 2008 to help me deal with some of my issues related to PTSD. I started training that first day and was completely hooked.

Where are you currently training, and what's a typical training week like for you?

-I train at Triple Threat Fighting for a mixture of Muay Thai, boxing, and intense cardio and Dan Henderson's Gym for MMA, BJJ and wrestling.

Tell us about your upcoming fight, who you're fighting and where?

-I am fighting Shannon Reid July 3rd in Las Vegas for Tuff-N-Uff.

What is your best experience as a fighter? What is your worst?

-My best experience as a fighter has to be sparring, even though sometimes my performance is lackluster I find that every time I spar I find how I can improve and I feel alive with each hit I give and take.

-My worst experience would be last year when I put myself in the hospital trying to make weight. I completely disregarded my health because I missed fighting so much, and my health paid the price.

What advice would you give to other women who are reading this interview and want to get started in MMA?

-Do it!!!!! For me there is nothing else that makes me feel as alive as I do in the ring. With fighting you gain confidence and a positive self image.

What or who are your inspirations in MMA and life?

-In MMA I have always loved Wanderlei Silva because he was such a brutal fighter. Lately though I am loving fellow soldier Tim Kennedy because he is an amazing fighter and has such an awesome outlook. In life I am inspired everyday by my fellow military personnel, specifically those who lay down everything for the freedom of this country. Also I find a great deal of inspiration through indie films and music, not necessarily the people performing, but the words and how they make me feel.

Who are your favorite MMA fighters?

-Wanderlei Silva, Tim Kennedy, Nicdali Rivera-Calanoc, Bas Rutten and Cris Cyborg.

How do you enjoy your free time when not training or fighting?

-Watching movies, playing with my daughters and running. Sadly food shopping, you know how there are like clothing shopaholics, I am a food shopaholic. I love shopping for food, weird I know.

For those who will inquire we have a couple questions for the male readership as well.

Are you single?

-No.

What do you look for in a guy?

-Must be funny, a little bit crazy, and be able to be more dominate than me (not an easy task).

What are your turn-ons?

-Intelligence, humor, and a well defined back (love upper-back body structure).

What are your turnoffs?

-Clingers, being overly into everything I am into, when clearly you weren't into that before we met.

What would you say is your best feature?

-Either my smile or my large backside.

Lastly before we let you go we would love to hear about your future plans and let you send some shout outs.

Any future plans or dreams?

-To fight as the main event on either Invicta FC or UFC.

Any shout outs you would like to make?

-Huge thank you to all my family, friends, and fans. Thank you to my sponsors MACP Combatives Gear, Ybarra Electric, Jack of all Nerds Podcast, Immortal Images Photography, and GFL. Huge shout out to my team at Triple Threat Fighting and my management team at Sangre Entertainment Management. Lastly to all my soldiers in 11th FSC, I love every moment I get to serve by your sides.

Thank you very much for your time Autumn and good luck on fight night! Click here to purchase tickets to Autumn’s fight and send your shout outs to her on FacebookInstagram and Twitter!
